In Egypt carnelian is associated with the sun God Ra. He decorated his falcon head with carnelian, known then as sun discs. Ra created Earth, Heaven, and the Underworld. When beloved Egyptians passed carnelian amulets were placed on their throats to guide the soul safely to the next life.
Carnelian is said to help the wearer feel grounded, as well as to assist with creative pursuits.
These mirrored banded carnelian cabochons are magic. Beautifully and precisely cut. Given a soft matte finish, still allowing light to move through them. Designed with subtlety in mind. Made by hand with sterling silver, prongs securely holding the carnelian. 45 mm in length from bend of the ear wire to base of the earring, and 11 mm at their widest point. Light and easily wearable.
